As a school social worker in Stillwater, I am so grateful for the on-going support of the SCCC each year at Christmastime. The generosity and dedication to helping truly needy students and families is such a blessing in our school community! The thoughtfulness and care that goes into providing for each student is truly special. While assisting in the delivery of the items provided, I am touched to be able to witness first-hand, the joy of the season of giving--and I hope that the SCCC and its many individuals, organizations, donors, sponsors and coordinators, know that they are truly making a difference in so many lives! Thanks once again for all that you do behind the scenes to make all of "this" happen!

As the social worker in an elementary school in Saratoga County, I have turned to The Saratoga Children's Committee on many of occasion to help a child or children meet basic needs or brighten their day. In the years that I have been connected to this agency, I have called upon their help after a family had a complete loss due to a house fire, when a family had no income and needed assistance with school supplies and a few new outfits for the first days of school and most often for holiday assistance. The Empty Stocking program has provided many of our students the magic of the Christmas spirit. So many of our students face hard times, hard situations and survive with very little - giving them a Christmas morning with such abundance provides them with well deserved smiles. Having the connection of this agency to our school, allows our school - and in particular me, the School Social Worker, a very powerful and helpful resource to our families and parents. It is often the beginning of a positive relationship between parent and school that starts with The Saratoga Children's Committee. I am very thankful to be part of all the good they do for our community, our county and our children.

We are so grateful to the Saratoga Children's Committee for all of their assistance throughout the year. It is through their generosity that 5 of the children in our program have the privilege of attending a private horseback riding camp in VT for a month each summer. The same children often attend multiple years and the impact is life changing. The Children's Committee also assists each year to provide back to school assistance for the kids in our program. It is so important to these kids that they can purchase back to school supplies, clothes or backpacks that are similar to those used by their peers. It certainly starts the school year off on the right foot for every child in our program! The children in our program live with challenging home circumstances and deserve to feel special and cared for. We appreciate the generosity of the Children's Committee for helping us do just that!

"Everyone who I have spoken to that is a part of the Children's Committee, has always been pleasant and kind. The thought and the generosity that comes with the Christmas gifts that they provide is overwhelming. When you see what they do for the families that we work with, as well as all of the additional families in the community, you see how much people truly care for others. It has been a pleasure to work with this amazing group of individuals."
