Empty Stocking Project
The Empty Stocking Project is the largest and most widely recognized project of the Saratoga County Children’s Committee. There are hundreds of children living within Saratoga County who are low income. Our mission is to embody the holiday spirit by giving these families a Christmas and holiday season they may otherwise not have. Each year we are able to provide almost 900 children living in Saratoga County with a wonderful holiday.
The project begins early in September, when agencies and schools identify children who are in need. Those agencies contact the Saratoga County Children’s Committee, and the Committee matches sponsors with children. Generous and loyal individuals, corporate and community “friends” sponsor area children by fulfilling a child’s holiday wish list.
A holiday wish list may include new clothes, toys, games, or other items the child wants. Without the generous support of people who sponsor a child, the Empty Stocking Project would not be possible. Individuals, families, civic groups, and businesses assist us each year. These friends are the heart of the Empty Stocking Project and the reason it is successful every year.

Sponsoring a child is one of the most important ways someone can support the Saratoga County Children’s Committee. In Saratoga County, we have hundreds of children waiting for a generous person like you to help make their holiday wishes come true.
Each year the Saratoga County Children’s Committee helps nearly 900 children from low-income families by providing them with toys, clothes, and games that they would not otherwise have. The organization also holds a Back to School Program which provides children with backpacks, school supplies, and new clothes.
None of this would be possible without our amazing donors and people who graciously sponsor these children.
